EDITED...Thank you so much everyone for your advice and opinions! It is greatly appreciated. I decided to follow my gut and wait until tomorrow's doctor apointment. I may be naive...but, I don't feel like this meningitis. I feel like she would have another symptom. Right now the ONLY symptom is the stiff neck. Otherwise she is acting like her normal self. So, I don't feel like I need to rush her in. I do however, believe that she definitely needs to be seen, and I want her seen by the doctor that knows the history of her being sick for the last couple weeks. So, tomorrow at 9:45 we will be at the doctor's office. I will update everyone with what we find out.
As I mentioned in my last post...scroll down to see it...Layna has developed a stiff neck. Of course, I searched the internet to see what could be going on. For the most part, it's probably nothing, but there is always the minor possibility that it is meningitis...I read it on-line and have had a NUMBER of people suggest it and encourage me to take her to the doctor. I decided to wait and see what today brought because she did not wake up stiff from nap yesterday. Well, she did wake up stiff today, but it only lasted about 10 minutes. Now, she is acting fine. I called to make an appointment with the doctor only to find out that we can't get in until tomorrow. Part of me thinks if the doctor knew the symptom, she would want to see Layna today. But, I was only able to talk to the receptionist...and to her, a stiff neck does not sound serious (unless you know the history).
I am so torn friends...what would you do?

Personally I'd wait for the appointment. If she would develop any other symtoms then I'd act. But trust your mommy gut on this one.
BTW, I'm glad to hear about matt's job and the pics from yesterday were adorable.
Glad to hear about Matt's job as well. Go take her to the doc... or have the doc call you back personally... I would tell the receptionist that you want her to be seen today due to the history. period. It will stress you all night if you don't take her. Calm your mind by taking her and letting the expert tell you it is nothing. There is nothing wrong with that. :-)
Glad to hear about Matt's job - I understand the situation since I found myself out of work when my then-current employer shutdown back after 9/11. My now-current employer (a big bank) is in the process of acquiring another big bank and we are still waiting to see how things shake out post acquisition.
On another note - have you figured out anything on the camera question that you asked a while back?
Go with your gut and get her in today !!!!!Good luck Keep us posted!
If the appointment is tomorrow morning, I'd just wait until then. But if your mommy instinct is telling you something serious is going on, ask to talk to a nurse at your pediatrician's office and they will be able to help I imagine.
I'd take her to the Dr just in case it cant hurt to go!!
Keep us posted on her appointment...

Ok. I will preface this with saying keep in mind I am overly cautious and am the mother of a child with a heart condition so I have to be very proactive.
I would call the office and tell them what you put here and get her in today. We have had issues with Dmitry where he has had a rash and weird body pains (leg in his case, couldn't even stand) and they said sometimes when your body has a virus it will send pain to a part of your body so you will feel it and know you are sick. I would just take her in. Dmitry did end up having some virus and it was easy to clear up but they tested him for everything because it could have been so much.
I am sure she is fine but why chance it?
If you are REALLY not wanting to wait, I say take her to the walk in and have her recent history ready to share.
