Just an FYI...

Since announcing that we are out of PGN, I have been getting asked "when is she coming home?" a lot lately. With that, I realized I never updated the BLOG with what our NY attorneys had to say about getting Malayna home by Christmas. When Jaime (attorney) called to tell us we were officially out of PGN, I asked if it was reasonable to believe that Malayana would be home for Christmas. He immediately responded with yes, but explained that it is contingent on when we get the new birth certificate issued. The birth certificate is coming from Guatemala City with often experiences volume delays. The current average wait for new birth certificates is 2 weeks. I believe (and Jaime explained) in order to get Malayna home before Christmas we need to have the birth certificate and passport in hand and be moving forward on the 2nd DNA test before Thanksgiving. That means we need the birth certificate issued sooner than the average...which is not impossible. I have heard of recent cases receiving the BC in about a week. Otherwise we are looking at after Christmas and potentially into January which honestly is ok with me...I am just relieved to know that she is coming home!!!

I hope that all makes sense to everyone. As usual, there is no way to know for sure exactly when she is coming until the last minute...but, the closer we get, the better we can estimate it. Right now, it is still hard to say other than December or January.

Please pray that we are issued the new BC by the end of this week or early next week...we want her home for Christmas if at all possible!
